The delegation of US Greco Roman athletes in Sweden is busy preparing for tomorrow’s Klippan Cup and we are lucky enough to bring you a few training photos. The Americans arrived in Sweden early yesterday, checked in, got everything all nice and settled, so now it’s all about gearing up for the tournament. Combat Wrestling Club founder Lucas Steldt, who is in Sweden along with NMU-OTS head coach Rob Hermann, is helping out with information and was nice enough to send over these images. As you’ll probably be able to tell, they have a pretty nice training situation going on over there.
In addition, the complete US roster for tomorrow’s event has also been released. The Klippan Cup is a Senior Greco Roman competition and the US contingent is comprised mostly of Juniors/University age group wrestlers with a few Cadets sprinkled in. But the opportunity to battle it out against international opponents is far too valuable not to take advantage of, which is why 21 (!) out of the 24 US wrestlers over there are jumping into the tournament (Jesse Porter, 75 kg, will not be joining the group until Sunday). The only athletes being left out are those deemed a little too young.
