REMINDER: The 2018 U23 World Championships begin next week from Bucharest, Romania. Given that Day 1 is Monday, there will not be a Roundup next week in keeping with our policy of isolating World events as they occur.

We will be releasing the U23 World rosters (from all of the participating nations that have submitted) later this week in effort to further set the table.

Soon to Be Hall of Famer Brandon Paulson

…will be the featured guest on the upcoming episode of The Five Point Move Podcast. A silver medalist at both the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and 2001 World Championships, Paulson is widely-regarded as one of the very best Greco-Roman athletes in US history and has gone on to forge a coaching career that is just as impactful. Between leading his collection of talented age-groupers at PINnacle Wrestling School and presiding over top-flight Seniors from the Minnesota Storm, it is hard to find another member of the wrestling community who has managed to transcend styles the way Paulson has. Freestyle/folkstyle people revere him; Greco people call him one of their own.

Last week, the National Wrestling Hall of Fame announced that Paulson will be enshrined as part of its 2019 class coming up later this spring, an honor in which he is more than deserving. It’s also a great conversation starter, so we will be discussing that with Paulson, other Greco-related topics, and then let podcast co-host Dennis Hall take the reins from there. When it drops, this thing will be can’t miss listening!
