LISTEN: Day 2 Wrap-Up Show

five point move live, post 2017 greco worlds recap

We’re here with post-event coverage of Day 2’s action at the 2017 Greco-Roman World Championships in Paris, France. On the call are New York State USAW coach and Curby 3-Style founder Joe Uccellini, and Five Point Move Senior Editor Tim Hands.

Day 2 of the 2017 Greco-Roman World Championships in Paris, France, did not bring forth the results most were hoping for out of Team USA. Only Ellis Coleman (66 kg, Army/WCAP) and Robby Smith (130 kg, NYAC) picked up wins in the first round while both Ildar Hafizov (59 kg/Army/WCAP) and Cheney Haight (80 kg, NYAC) lost in their opening bouts after hanging in there for a while. The main topic of this program is obviously centered around the performances of the four US Greco-Roman World Team members, but we’ll touch on other areas, as well. There is no doubt the US Greco-Roman program as a whole is improving rapidly, but since it is the Seniors who set the bar, what happens at a World Championships reverberates on down through the age groups.
